    Nah, it's the alcohol that's thinning your blood. As they say, "If the shoe fits, wear it?". Although as one with 5 leatherneck kilts (sixth on the way) only one pair of blue wool hose? I think somebody should be cruising over to Matt's website and ordering some more blue hose and traditional flashes in time for you kilt delivery.

    For some reason (like I live in Southern California!) I don't need heavy wool hose very often........

    Sorry Jay not trad. flashes but trad. garter ties. McMurdo has a pair (well more now) he's a convert, swears by them. I'll be ordering some with my new MacLachlan by Matt.

    Sure - I just wonder where the traditional part comes in when no one has been wearing them for ages.....?

    When your socks were cadadh made of tartan wool, you'd cut some strips of wool to tie around the top & hold them up. Look at some of the illustrations of the diced hose with castellated tops, something similar is going on there.
