Would pin-stripes work with a kilt? Would they clash with pleating to the stripe?

Very nice, Jay! I saved a blue corduroy jacket from going to the thrift store that you've got me thinking to covert to a kilt jacket.

Ok, I pulled all those suit jackets out of the closet. I'll take them to the sewing lady and say, "Um... do that thing that makes them look right with a kilt, please." I have no idea what that is, but...
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Looks nice, and I'm suprised more Americans don't wear corduroy. When I was living in Los Angeles I had a day wear jacket and waistcoat in a light golden brown corduray-- much more comfortable than tweed, especially in August! Presumably you've used black knotted leather buttons? Anyhow-- a sartorial "GOLD STAR".

I have a brown corduroy jacket and vest that I'm looking at for conversion that sounds a bit like that. Glad to hear that it works. I'm thinking it will go well with my Weathered Lamont 1/2 set. It has patch pockets too, so it might be an easy chop job for the lady with the needels.

Don't forget, there are many fine step-by-step directions here on the forum.
But really, for most jackets, you just mark out the curve for the sporran, describe how you want the pockets treated, and that's it. For a couple of my jackets, I used left-over cut off fabric to form those shoulder thingies and cuffs also. My next big project is a high quality used tail coat to PC.
My tailor is getting pretty good.

Looks great, Jay! I rather like the black shirt/hose with the Black Stewart, very striking.
I have a tan corduroy suit jacket in queue for conversion. Though originally a suit, it's a very versatile sport coat. It would go with almost any combination of shirt/slacks in my closet!!
