Definitely join us Adam. We had a great turn out last year for the first Burns Dinner and it's looking like the second will be even better.

Sounds good! I'll bring my girlie along as well. She's Irish, which just means she will stay outta the scotch. ;)

All right, gentlemen, the time is drawing near. We need to start in making some final arrangements, and I'm posting this to move it back to the top.
I have Turpin down for the Address to the Haggis.
SouthernScot is going to help me with the haggis and the decorating, etc.
CavScout: can you Toast the Lassies and have your bride respond?
Gilmore: how about a poem or three?
I'll do the Immortal Memory.
Any pipers available? And we'll need a color guard for the haggis. (I'll provide a claymore and a basket hilt if you don't have one.)
And has anyone seen or heard from NIxPhotography lately? He was a big asset last year.

P. S. Adam, you simply must join us. Dress is pretty optional since we'll have some in PC's, some in doublets, some in sweaters, and some in . . . who knows.

Yes, I will be happy to read or recite a poem or 2 or 3. Do you have requests or shall I make some selections on my own, carefully avoiding Burn's bawdy verse, at least until the latter part of the evening, or until all the ladies have passed out underneath the table and are safely beyond hearing them, whichever comes first.

I'd be glad to Jim. I'll confirm with my Wife on her participation.
I've still got Rabbie's photo if you want it or I can email it to you.
I've accumulated a large selection of Eddie Reader's renditions of Burns for some music.
I can check with the Atholl Highlanders to see if they would like to participate as well or if any would want to serve as the piper.

EEK! I haven't been watching this thread! The Missus has been asking about the Dinner and I have been telling her that I had not heard/read anything about. My bad! Count us both in. If it's anything like the bash after SMHG 07 we wouldn't miss it!
Jim mentioned that there was a hotel nearby last year's venue. Is there a decision about the location for this year yet? We want to go ahead and get a reservation.
Also, I seem to remember Shriner saying that he might want to attend. He is also a piper.
Cheers,
~P

I thought you'd stayed in the islands after your cruise or something.
Glad you're coming with the better half. We'll be in Olde Town Conyers, and you can stay at the local Jameson Inn or the Comfort Inn and Suites. Either are within a cheap cab fair or even crawling distance if the need arises, and this will outdo the Stone Mountain affair by leaps and bounds.
PM me for any details, and I'll forward my phone number, too. Also, I'll contact Shriner to see if we can talk him into a road trip.
Thanks.
P.S. Only 24 more posts until I hit the 1000 mark!

Jim,
Just confirming as the 25th appears to be a Friday. Is that correct?

25th is definitely a Friday. It's nice that Rabbie's birthday actually falls on a weekend.
