I'm surprised no one else has asked this, but what does the fiance say about it? After all, her opinion should hold a lot more wieght in your decision than any of ours.

If you're not wearing a tie, then I would wear the jacobite, although the banded collar mentioned earlier has merit.

Give the guy a break! His wedding day will be the last time he's allowed to decide anything for himself!
My choice would be to avoid the Jacobite shirt, but I would be careful in my choice of dress shirt: I would try to get one that has a collar constructed in such a way that it doesn't look to 'bare' without a tie.
