Thumbs up, Frugal Corner
Hit the post office at lunch to find that my new Frugal Corner 13 oz kilt had arrived! I ordered in on Friday, the same day as my SWK Buchanan kilt. The SWK arrived on Wednesday, The FC today (Friday). I suspect the difference is due to the post office, rather than something Frugal Corner did, since I got shipping notices for both at the same time.
So, five days turnaround for the SWK, and seven days for the FC.
On to the kilt...
I'll post pics this evening when I get home, but here's a quick review.
I'd put it on a par with the SWK Economy, similar weight and amount of cloth.
The straps look heavier than those on my SWK kilts, but the buckles look lighter weight. The straps are also longer, with four adjustment holes, versus three on the SWK.
The tartan looks good. I haven't found any noticeable screw ups in the weaving, yet. Red_Raven_Studios did find a mistake in the Buchanan I just got from SWK (the joys of living with a weaver).
I can't wait to go home and try it on!

Congratulations. I am glad you have both of your kilts now.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…
Yes, I have squirrels in my brain…

Congratulations on the new kilt - and it's good to hear a postitve thing about Frugal Corner, as they seem to be collecting a lot of bad press lately.

Not bad at all! I've been tossing around the idea of getting some tartan fabric from them to make myself a belted plaid, but have been a little cautious, as they have indeed gotten a lot of bad press. But on the other hand, I have read that everyone with a good experience will tell 3 friends, while those with bad experiences will tell 10 or something to that effect.

From what I've seen from the threads, it seems if they actually have what you want in stock your fine. The problem is apparently the lack customer service and the length of time you weight if they don't.

Yes, that's a big issue for me. Bad communication with me from eBay vendors will invariably earn negative feedback.

That seems to be the case, as far as I can see. That's why I would never order something from them unless I was sure it was in stock. However, I wouldn't count on their online inventory page. It hasn't, apparently, been updated in a week. When I ordered my kilt, it showed one in stock in my size/tartan. It still shows one in stock in my size/tartan.
