    I had never heard of a Sgian Don't before. I think the idea is pretty neat. My tastes run to simplicity and I like the lines of that one. Your right about the parties, particularly if the folks are expecting a blade. You can hold court and just open bottles for people all night. But there should be a price, you get to sample the good stuff.

    Did cutting it down damage the strength of the opener at all?

    Not that I've noticed - I've only opened a couple of bottles with it, but it's pretty strong steel to begin with. Besides, you don't need a lot of force to open a bottlecap.
