I have been a ham since 1974. First licensed as WN4HYR. Then N4CBK in 1977.
Member of the Quarter Century Wireless Association (QCWA), the American Radio Relay League (ARRL), the Auburn University Amateur Radio Club (K4RY), The East Alabama ARC (W4LEE) and the Heart of Dixie ARC (W4HOD). I am also a member of the Alabama Contest Group.
I love RTTY contests and CW contests, but don't do a lot of phone except for 2-meters and 440.
I worked Shuttle STS-58 way back in 1993 during the SAREX program (Shuttle Amateur Radio Experiment) when it was REALLY hard to do. And back in April 4, 2006, I worked the International Space Station while on my lunch hour, mobile, running 50 watts on 2-meters! It's just too easy these days. (BTW, for you guys who aren't hams "worked" means to have "made a contact with".)
Glad to know there are other hams here. Figured there would be in such a large crowd.
73! Cheers es TNX de N4CBK.
