    The problem that we are experiencing is that common websites can't be found, but the ISP's own web pages come up fine. It's like the routers that store the IP addresses get flushed and won't deliver up a foreign web page until it gets refreshed. I saw stuff like this back in day when I did production support - nodes on the network recognized each other, but when the IP address cache got flushed, it took a while before it rebuilt itself. Since Adam and I use the same ISP and are experiencing (intermittently) the same phenomenon, I think the problem is not on our end.

    Regards,
    Rex.

    using IE?

    Hi folks

    I was having a similar issue... randomly being given the message "Internet explorer is unable to display the webpage" on sites that I've regularly visited in the past.

    I found out (after a lot of digging) that it's related to one specific update from microsoft's website. Removing the update, clearing the cache and the temp files seemed to do the trick.

    If this sounds like you, let me know and I'll dig up the info I found on the update to remove.

    cheers
