    Kudos to AlphaKilts

As some you know I am a newbie and looking for my first Kilt. I was looking for one I can take with me in the outdoors. Yall's help was great, I chose going with AlphaKilts had my wife measure me and placed the order. The next day the co-founder contacted me asking to remeasure my seat. In his experince he told me it should measure 2 extra inches based on the waist measurement I gave. He was right, the misses measured just above the widest part of mine ****, so by caring he spend extra time to make sure things were done right the first time. I don't think other companies would go that extra mile. Just wish I could get it before his wholesale to the public ends, I just might of bought a second.

His sale ends February 9. Only $99 for the existing models, so you might still get in on it. Apparently he will be selling kilts through some retail outlets and his online prices will rise to match the retail prices.

I managed to get into a pre-production model of the Glasgow in black for $129. It's a heavy poly-cotton box pleat which they're going to do in a trad-waisted style for me. I asked them if their pleats tend to roll like UKs do. Reply was that UKs roll because they use cotton thread which shrinksd differentially from the material. AlpaKilts uses poly embroidery thread which is stronger than cotton and doesn't shrink, so I hope the rolling pleat syndrome will be minimal.

I just ordered mine a few days ago. I was tempted to order a second but it's just not in the budget right now.

I was also a little nervous about my measurements, as all my previous kilts have been off the rack, velcro types. But on the other hand, I also ordered it slightly small anyway, as I will be slightly smaller by the time it gets here, so the worst case scenario is it takes a little while longer to fit. And of course they resize the thing for free, I just don't want to have to do it.
