    Sounds like fun to me. I'm new and I'd love to meet some folks in the world.
    Downtown sounds like a good choice as well. Last year mid-town was insane.

    Any of the aforementioned bars sound good to me.

    I second Telephone. It's a fun spot on the east side with a good selection of beer and other libations.
