Last year I pulled out my kilt from storage after over 8 years. I hadn't worn it since my wedding (honeymoon, actually). To my great pleasure it still fit like a glove. That got me excited enough about the prospect of wearing my kilt more often that I started to look online for information about casual accessories (all I had were dressy things). Lo and behold I found X-Marks.

Back last year, I decided I was going to make me a kilt. So after I was done googling myself, I googled kilts and found this site. Didn't thnk much about it at first...
...then after more googling later on down the road, I found Matt Newsome's site and found the link off there and thought, why not? That's when I realised all roads seemed to lead to this place.
So, it was 6 months later I finally got around to making the kilt and it'd be about a month later that I finally gave in and joined the rabble.
And one of the things that made me join was how well everyone seems to get a long.

I was Googling for Scotland and Texas connections. I think I hit a thread about a kilt night out somewhere in Texas and the rest is history.

I was interested in getting a kilt around Nov-Dec 2006. I stumbled on to Mr.Kilt's web page and followed a link from there. I suppose Al should get credit for sorta refering me. Does he get a free kilt now?

I found X Marks through Google as I was trying to learn about kilts. When I had my first kilt on order I officially joined.

Houstonian Zardoz is a member of the Houston Highland Games Association's Yahoo email group. He emailed an announcement about a Kilt Night last January 10th for Chase's welcome and that it included the X-Markers. Out of curiosity, I came to this webby and wondered why I never knew of this place before! I've gotten some good advice here!

I honestly FORGET how I came across xmarks, but USAK and XMARKS came into being around the same time. Maybe Hank and I were (ugly) twins separated at birth!

I can't remember which specific searches I found XMarks through, but I'm sure there were a few. Reviews, how to's, and even just forums or groups for people who love kilts were the biggies that kept leading me to this place.
I'm amazed it's taken me so long to even do a search about kilts online. When I first met my husband about 15 years ago, I knew he'd always wanted one. Lately for some reason, he's been talking about them more so I thought I'd do some research for him. Every time I found something interesting or he'd ask about something related to kilts or anything like that I would mention this board. I told him he should just go ahead and join, but he can get pretty busy so he hasn't yet (I'm sure he will eventually). Then again, I'm sure he knows he'd spend tons of time reading all the great information here and then he'd never get anything else done
But yeah, it seemed like anytime I was searching for anything related to a kilt, I kept ending up here. I've really enjoyed reading the posts -- everyone seems so nice and the information has been so helpful!

I got my first kilt as a present from my parents. Ok, it was an ebay certificate and I used it to buy my first kilt, a black watch acrylic beast but it was extra long.
Well, it wasn't what I expected and I started searching for how to make a kilt. Now I am making my 11th kilt.
Thanks to all.
