Merci Robert. La boitier est magnefique! Excuse me if my French fails me at this point. I also play French pipes (cornemuse bechonnet in G even though the petit bourdon anche gives me nothing but trouble and cornemuse du berry in C, as well as biniou kozh). Love the rich sound of French pipes.

That's very kind of you. I was more or less expecting a cold shoulder with my French pipes. I can see on the contrary that people here are open minded; and those who may dislike, the courtesy to remain discreet.

Afraid I don't have ANY kilts to spare.. I have a 4 yd Hunting and just received my 8 yd. Ancient Mackinnon. Ah that I could afford to have a spare kilt or two lying around.... My next kilt (when the fairies deliver the pot of gold) will be a Davidson to honour my late mother.

BTW I listen to a bit of Breton music. I like Dan Ar Braz and Pierre Bensusan quite a bit. If you have some others to recommend I would be grateful. Thanks for the picture. It is beautiful.

northernsky, if you're into breton music, I'd recommend a couple bands including Gwerz, Forzh Penaos, Skorvan, Stolvan, Ar Re Youank and Kornog. For breton pipes, there's always Jean Baron et Christian Anneix, Pierre Crepillo et Laurent Bigot. Both of these pairings are sonneurs de couple, with one playing biniou kozh (bagpipe) and bombarde (shawm). For solo piping I'd recommend Patrick Molard. There's also the other breton bagpipe known as the veuze which is not recorded all that often. I'd recommend any recordings you could find of it, especially those of Thierry Bertrand, Thierry Lahais and John Skelton.
What Msr. Amyot plays (at least in his recordings that I've heard thus far) is predominantly central French music from or influenced by the Berry region. (Please correct me if I'm wrong on this Robert). BTW, Robert, are you going to be at St Chartier this year? This is the first year that I've ever been able to make it and could stand some recommendations.
Hope this has helped.

Robert, I just checked out your MySpace and listened to your incredibly beautiful music! Where can a poor Canadian lad buy your discs? I tried Amazon.ca but they don't list you. Do you ever come over to the water to play? Your own site says 'chanteur du Quebec', do you play in la belle province? What about the Vancouver Folk Festival? Always a free place to stay for you here.
