Tartan Ball
I enjoyed meeting Glen at the event even though I wasn't wearing a kilt. The gentleman from Calgary seems to be wearing a McDonnel or McDonald tartan. Scottish country dancing seems to be alive and well in the Toronto area with a number of classes having 30 members or so. Great way to exercise the legs and mind. The scope of the activity can be seen on the Royal Scottish Country Toronto site. The sequence of moves is gone over verbally before the dance, so there is no opportunity other than to follow if you have a poor memory.
Enjoyed the evening and watched for a couple of hours.

Thanks for the pictures, Glen. That looks like a fabulous event. Is it just me, or are the men's jackets disappearing as the evening progresses? Great to see so many kilts.

No its not just you. I was amused to see that happening too. And it is just what I expected too - SCD is hot work when done with enthusiasm!
Thanks for the lovely pictures, Glen

Well I was glad to talk to my instructor tonight about it as she confirmed that I should be ready for next year.

Wonderful pics, Glen. It looks like it was a really smashing evening.
I'm sure you'll be ready for the dancing by next year and you'll cut quite a dash.
Jamie: The trick I have found for getting good pictures of the dancers is to take short videos of them.
Then just use something like Animation shop to open the video and it will give you lovely, clear frames for every movement and you can pick the pictures you like the best.
