Just a bit too small to get your leg down in that hose. Na, I can talk either kind of hose. I want to get some brown Lewis hose to go with my Weathered Half Lamont.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHA
The Lewis hose from the Scottish Tartan Museum are GREAT.
I have several pair and love them. I want MORE!
Don't think I'd use them in the garden, though. They are wool and need to be handwashed.

Ya, that's why I was getting those knee high socks. They're very, very thick and have a bit of a cable paterned top, and don't seem to look too bad for casual. They're not long enough to turn down like kilt hose, but you can get them at Walmart for... I think five or so dollars, under ten dollars. That is the perfect kind of garden knock around kilt socks for me.
Also, I like brass quick connects with built-in valves, but the plastic ones aren't too bad if you need a bunch of them and can't spend that much.
I tried to ask my inner curmudgeon before posting, but he sprayed me with the garden hose…

Well, in another gardening thread Retro Red asked me what kind of hose I like for gardening. Good enough reason to bump this one.
And here is his post from that thread... Just for the record.

Na, those PVC hoses crimp too easily. Although, if you were using it as a fairly stationary hose, it might be fine.
On the other hand, if your gardening in a BK or a knock around kilt, you might want to pick up some of the extra thick knee highs at Walmart.
And look, I have problems fitting into pants or jeans. It is very nice to not have to constantly have to pull my pants up while working, or to have a belt digging into my waist. Overalls have there place, but the shoulder straps get caught on things and get in the way. So that's the deal.
I'm not meaning to insult anyone's Scottishness or degrade the kilt. I'm just a dirt farmer and a potter, and almost all of my life is spent doing those activities. It would help everyone if you just put the BK that I wear on your list of un-kilts.

I also have a very large foam pad that is big enough to lay on when I'm working up under the trees. I can put my tools on the pad and kind of inchworm my way around. Keeping my kilt pleats well placed of course.
I am going to have to go to Home Depot this weekend to get citrus fertilizer, and I am going to look at their 2" belts and the tool pouches that can go on them. Might go well with a BK.
