My seventeen year wee one...the daughter...shares the interest in the kilt.

The nineteen year old "wee" one thinks that I have taken leave of my senses.

I'm assuming (yes, yes, I know....) that "Dad" is expressing the "no son of mine is gonna wear a skirt" type mentality. If that's the case I would also arm the lad with knowledge before I gave him a kilt or a sgian (BTW, I would suggest a Sgian Don't of some kind first, maybe a comb or even a bubble blower loop if he's young enough) so he'll be able to understand himself and be able to answer questions from his curious peers and the occasional "A$$hat" who needs to be put straight.

    My 2 cents worth.

    SB,

I have gotten my children Sportkilts and feel that they are a good deal for the money. Another option is USA kilts, Rocky and crew can make children's sizes and the PV is a great material option for active children. I am really impressed with the Mcleod one I bought my son.

Over at Stillwater has a new line of children's kilts and accessories that I haven't had a chance to try yet, but as my little insist on growing like weeds I'm sure I will be placing an order with Jerry before to much longer.

This is just me but I would definately go with a sgian don't for a child. A really fun option my son enjoys is a Pez dispenser. I filed and sanded the base so it wouldn't dig into his leg and it works fine. A Batman sgian dubh that holds candy, what could be better for a second grader?

    Cheers

    Jamie

    Thanks Jamie!
The Sgian Replica website was cool, I wish I could find it now. It had great handles to "show" from hose yet the blade, if you call it that, is squared off and blunt.

Glaisne, If you look at the T's & C's and the rules on this site, you will notice that when someone new signs up their posts are automatically delayed for a possible review for a while. You're posts aren't modified, just delayed for a while before they show. After you've been here a while they will be up right away.
