Double box pleat kilt project !

I'm kind of the same way, although I didn't even know about the military box pleat before this board.

Is there any historical precedent for the double box pleat, or is it just something you tried?

I have been wearing kilts as long as I can remember (and sometimes I hated my dad for it) . They where all knife pleated. Studying Highland history made me go deeper into the pleating system of the belted plaid. This brought me to box pleats. Then I met my wife Chrystel who is a professionnal taylor for theatrical attires, wedding dresses ... and everyday family clothing. She is the one that cued me on the double box pleats; telling me how they would obviously meet with the demands of comtemporary kilted gents in search of both civilian elegance and tradition.
