I have a very good friend who used to have an IQ over 150. He got into a car wreck- rear ended- and hit his head on the back window of this truck. He suffered brain damage. The doctors testing him told him that he seemed like a completely normal person and were amazed at his level of funtionality even with the brain damage. He is now a person with an average IQ. He has made the observation that if he's now average, it's horrifying to him that there are people less intelligent than he is even with brain damage, because he feels dumb and mentally sluggish being average. I think your dad is brilliant. That makes me think of my grandfather. One of his favorites was "You can lead a jackass to knowledge but you can't make him think."
