Gilmore, They no longer have the chance to petition for a grant of arms if they purchase a feudal barony. Since the abolition of feudal tenure in Nov 2004 this has not been possible. Feudal Baronies in the most part were based on 'land superiority' there is no longer land superiority. So purchasing a Barony will not entitle you to petition for a coat of arms. Unless you are already Scots, or have a proven paper chase of Scots decent, or own land in Scotland.
