Looking For Doctron Brown
I am doing a geneology search on the Brown family of North Carolina and I am stuck at Doctron Brown of Bertie County. He was born in 1808 (or 1810:looking at census records, he either goofed on his birthday one time or someone transcribed his age incorrectly during one of the census years). His name shows up in the census on different occasions as Doctron, Doctrine and Docton. Has anyone else been researching the Brown family in NC? We also have Browns that seem to like to flip back and forth from Bertie to Vance and or Granville Counties. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Since this is a duplicate post of one in the heraldry & tartans section, I'll go ahead and close this one.
