Only the rich folks! On the west coast, solar panels are pretty much a waste anyway.

OT, I bought a Gizmo from Steve at FK, and I really like it as well. It puts out a lot of steam for such a small unit, and the clamping feature is nice too.

I've got one of these. It is not big enough to do a lot of ironing, but it works great for touch ups, especially things like wrinkled pleats. You can leave the kilt right on the hanger and just use the clamping feature to straighten out the pleats.

I love mine...except a couple days ago the top push button thingie stopped popping back up right away...have to wait a while...kinda like dial up. Before I get a new one wanna try and let a bit of oil seep down and loosen things up...hopefully won't get into the water chamber.

But for the years heavy use I've given it even if it's broke now I've gotten my money's worth.

The Gizmo is pure magic on hand sewns and USA Kilts Polyviscose...

Still use the hanging weights on my cotton kilts, but a few steam blasts to the pleats, or clamps with steam, while the pleats are weighted seems to help the pleats find its shape.

Biggest advantage, is no wrestling trying to iron a kilt on an ironing board or on the floor.

Okay, with the steam button sticking in the down position on my well used, elderly, Gizmo I put a couple drops of oil on top of the button so it could seep down into the mechanism. Let it sit a couple days.

Just fired it up to touch up a kilt and the button is working fine now. I was afraid the oil would somehow seep into the water chamber, but it hasn't.

So, if that happens to your Gizmo as it ages, a couple drops of machine oil will free it up again.
