That is so true Darrell..........ahhhhh, that "oceanic climate",.....it's really not so bad.
Take for instance last week........it only rained twice.
Once for 3 days,...and once for 4 days.

Go for it. If you pull off the interview as well as your radio program, it should be a walk in the park ..so to speak. I am very impressed with your knowledge in this area. Your selection of the music that brought the historical aspects to real life. I hope that your magic gets to be in Ireland. Again.

You'll enjoy Belfast and the surrounding area. I lived in Bangor, Co. Down for about 6 months in 1996 and loved it. We made many a trip into Belfast. The whole Ards peninsula is nice, in general. Make sure you go to Grace Neill's in Donaghdee. Just a word of warning: you look tall. I had trouble fitting through the door!

Good for you, Greg! It sounds quite interesting. I'd be intereseted in reading about the whole kibosh after your return. Northern Ireland fascinates me and I'm curious about the mood, etc. in the past few years.

What you might want to consider doing is studying the songs (some quite recent) of the loyalist community. There is a huge amount of music in NI that seems to be universally ignored by Irish musicologists, and virtually all of it comes from that community.
