Remember that tartans were not named or standardized during the hay-day of the belted plaid. That being the case, anything of a tartan-like pattern would be historically correct (though I must say that, in period, tartans containing a lot of white were most often worn by women...yours still looks fine for a man to wear though, I think). That being said, someone will no doubt ask you what tartan it is anyway. So, either find a name for it, or attempt to educate those who ask.

Or, depending on where you're wearing the great kilt, you could always come up with a story about how it's the favorite pattern of a small weaver who lives on the outskirts of a remote Scottish village. Invent a whole back story.
