After a while of mastering the needle in leather, the needle in wool will come to you. Be patient, the sewing machine took a day or two to get going.. getting the needle to hide the stitches in a kilt can happen someday.. I know, I am in my fourth week of hand sewing a wool kilt, and am no wheres near a third of the way. My eyesight gives out after only one pleat....

Well, as of right now my DIY passion lies with sporrans and other leather goodies. I have no desire to sew a kilt. If I do, I will probably start with an x-kilt and go from there. The sewing machine is still something a little foreign to me. I just want to get good enough to sew patches onto uniforms for my service.
