    The best introduction to the subject of Free Masonry (for those in the USA) is the IDIOT'S GUIDE TO FREE MASONRY which will answer your questions, dispel most of the myths, and hopefully encourage you to become a brother to the many Masons here on X Marks the Scot.

    I'd very much like to be a mason, but I don't believe in a single, omnipotent force, as I'm heathen. And, saddly, I am not one of those folks who believes that swearing is just words, so I can't forswear myself to join.

    There are 33 possible degrees (not many go beyond the first three) but none to do with the kilted mysteries - clearly a case for 34!
