Holy moly! A FORT WORTH Kilt Night

Some of the Kilted will be in the Fort Worth area May 3 (Saturday).

Anyone want to meet at Joe T. Garcia's for evening margaritas or at the Fort Worth Stockyards?

(The SCD has a demo dance at the FW Stockyards at 8pm that night).

I will be in New Iberia, LA celebrating my grandmother's 100th birthday on 5/3. Otherwise I would have definitely been there!

I'll keep an eye on this thread and try and make it if looks like it'll happen. I'm in Mansfield / Fort Worth frequently on the weekends so it's likely I'll be able to attend.

I would sure love to see the dancers, since I'm hoping to start attending classes in the near future.

What are the details for the Stockyards? If we were to meet there, where would it be, what time would be best, and what's the entrance fee? I've never been out there for an event (just looking around).

You know.... there's a train that runs from Grapevine to Ft. Worth called the Tarantula. A steam engine. When I was getting into Victorian costuming, I always wanted to get a group of us together to ride it. Someday we might have to have a kilted outing on that, wander around Ft Worth and then ride it back or something.

But back to the Stockyards SCD thing... anyone else interested? Rowdy, is there a site for your dancing group that lists info about it or is there one for the Stockyards with the info about their event?

Afraid I can't make it. Oddly that's the first weekend that I get to spend in Dallas instead of Fort Worth in about a month now!

Christopher came home for lunch today, so I had a chance to chat with him about this weekend a little more. Unfortunately, we will probably have to sit this one out this time He'd also like to get some nicer, comfy casual shoes so he doesn't have to dress up so much all the time when he's wearing the kilt but he's been having trouble finding anything he likes that would be comfortable and look nice.
