I this age of the internet and google I think it is easy enough for people to find us...Thats how I found you...and there are not many kilt sites out there....I think the impression we make in our kilts is enough to strike up a conversation...Personally I feel a card works against us in our quest for acceptance..I think it reinforces the perception of your kilt as a novelty item. I started painting in a kilt as a novelty but have fallen head over heals in love with my kilts and am trying to get more involved in kilting society. Just a view Bruce
PS...Love the Sonoran card

Just posted this on another thread but I'll put it here as well. This is the back of the card I hand out. The front I change with different pics of myself kilted. I hope I'm not in violation of any copyright laws. My intent is only to get those interested to visit the best kilt site in cyberspace!

I can see wear you are coming from, but in my experience a lot of the people I talk to think it is just a silly novelty item (or something equally dismissive) at the beginning of a conversation, and explaining the growing popularity of kilts, the rise of contemporaries, and the kilt community helps to change that, or at least peak their interest. For those who are curious, I give out the name of the site, but it would be nice to have a card which ensures they won't forget the address by the time they get home.

Ok, so I got busy, (well I actually went and played a cricket match...)
but I got back on the job of figuring out an Xmarks card. this is what I came up with:

Now, First off, I used Hamish because of a couple of reasons, 1) he is known internationally for his kilt wearing. 2) he is an active member of Xmarks. 3) he has a TON of photos on his website.
if you wish, I would be more than happy to make personalized Xmarks business cards for anyone. it would be the same layout like that, the only thing is either you send me pictures of yourself kilted OR you have pictures of me. I know that Hamish and many others are very very well dressed but I won't use their pictures without their permission.
Hamish - feel free to smack me and tell me to take this down, or if you want I can send you the photoshop file and you can play around with it!
but anywho thats what I came up with in just about an hour.
