    I posted the same thing not to long ago. I think it will work You will hve to have about 4.5 yard of tartan.

    I'm 6'2", and have a belted plaid, in 60" wide wool tartan ("Maple Leaf"). The 60" width allows me to wear it over my head, if needed. Form what I've read on this website, 4 to 5 yards/meters should be plenty.

    Also: check my posting "MacNaughton Ancient tartan", under the For sale section, if you are interested in getting 60" wide, 100% wool fabric, 12oz weight, in this tartan, at a cheap price. We 'only' need peole to commit to buying up to another 8 yards, to meet the 30yd min., requirwed, fro the custom weave.
