I think the impression we make in our kilts is enough to strike up a conversation...Personally I feel a card works against us in our quest for acceptance..I think it reinforces the perception of your kilt as a novelty item.
I dunno. Our motorcycle club has started handing out "courtesy cards". and It seems to be a nice touch. it's a nice way to inform the non-motorcycling public that we arn't a bunch of 1%'ers, just regular guys that like to ride. I stopped to help a fella once who had run out of gas on our pathetic excuse for a state highway. Went to the next town with his can, filled it up and rode back. He read the card and was really interested. Might work the same for kilts. Now if I could figure some way to ride with the kilt...
In a similar vein to Mr Bones' motorcycle club the Land Rover club that I am a member of started making and distribution "you have been spotted" cards with the name and address of the club on them for when members "spot" a kindred spirit [in this case Land Rovers]
