I don't think FC and SWK come from the same manufacturer. The difference in the feel of the material, and obvious difference in straps and buckles stands out.

I like both my SWK kilts, and my FC. My next kilt will be a USA Kilts Semi-Trad, though.

Tried to order one in U.S. Army tartan, but they
didn't have it. Ordered my second from Sport kilt.
Really wanted to give them my biz, but they're limited on tartans.
    Maybe, one day.

    Better, worse? Or just different?

    Same general quality.

Leather on the FC straps is not as stiff. Buckles look different.

I have the same tartan from FC and it looks a little different under different light sources, sometimes more blue, sometime a little more purple.

Thanks! I think once they get it in stock in my size, I'm going to order myself one. That's a really nice tartan.

I have same kilt and it is a deep blue. Depending on the light it can look purple but is definitely blue.

Took me 11 months to get my order from them... but, the Hunting Stewart I got is of a much nicer material than the Black Stewart I got from SWK. The Black is overly fuzzy, and a very loose weave. The Hunting feels closer to a 16oz wool, but has a dodgy selvedge.

Stan, inspired by your pictures I just spoke to Mark at Frugal Corner and my Clark kilt is being shipped today.
    Thanks for your pics.

I was just in the store today, and he had a stack of boxes ready to go out this afternoon!
