Seems to me the proper thing to do to celebrate is buy a new kilt.

For shame!!! By not living beyond your means and building u p lots of debt, you are obviously not doing your part to keep the economy stimulated. You must immediately begin to build up that debt again.
Just kidding, I would like to be in that position myself. On the positive side, I will have my mortgage paid off when I retire (just over eight years away).

I celebrated by buying an Olfa cutting mat and 28 mm rotary cutter for the sweat shop.
As for stimulating the economy, I'll use my gub-ment money towards something that can't be taxed, so I don't have to pay taxes on it. I'm looking at taking a PPCT Defensive Tactics Instructor coarse up at the academy. That'll be a nice little vacation that I get paid for!

Woohoo! Congrats on the milestone! It must be a fantastic feeling.
My wife and I are within a few years of being completely debt free, barring any major catastrophy. It's something we are really looking forward to.

Ah, an impressive goal to reach.
I'm well on my way. No credit cards to pay off, my car, small loan, and my house is all I have left to pay down. The house will be the last and should take another five years. I want to be debt free by the time I'm 40 so I can start saving up for retirement.
