    Decisions ...decisions. What tartan?

Well Rocky and Kelly have really made me a big fan of USA Kilts. I had ordered the US Navy and Grey Granite tartans is the casual model about 8 weeks ago. Then I ordered the American Heritage in a semi-traditional a little over a week ago. For several days I've been looking at the Cameron, Caledonia, and Holyrood tartans. I really like all three, but I could only buy one in a semi-traditional. Must have changed my mind 100 times - what is this tartan jonesing prior to purchase?

I went to the various tartan finder web sites to view different pictures of the tartans. I searched XMarks for photo of members wearing the tartans. I mentally pictured myself wearing each tartan - dang I look good in all three!

Maybe I should buy all three and tell my wife it was temporary insanity. Surely she would believe me and console me because of the anguish I suffered. Not!! Well, in the end it was the Holyrood tartan in a semi-traditional that I could not live without. I ordered it today. The addiction was in remission for many months, but alas, it has resurfaced with a vengeance.

You know, the indecision becomes even worse when you are in the shop. I had a whole list in my head when I walked in. Suddenly, I was overwhelmed by all the fabric. I was like a kid who walked into Toys R Us for the first time. I took the lass all around showing her the various kilts on display. Totally blanked out when it came time for tartan selection. If you stop by for a visit, DON'T LOOK BEHIND THE CURTAIN! It's worse than Baskin Robins - you actually can get one of each.

    Holyrood! Holyrood! Holyrood!

I'm waiting on my paycheck so I can get the USAK Semi-Trad in Holyrood.

Double check the cloth on the Cameron. A year or so ago Rocky told me it was a bit different than PV...that might make a difference. Or maybe he used that up and has PV now.

I solved the decision making problem by just buying 22 USA kilts....

Ron is correct... the Cameron tartan is the ONLY one we carry in our Semi Trad and Casual line that is NOT PV. It is actually a Cotton Twill but still makes for a nice "low cost" kilt. It is NOT teflon coated like the PV, but it is still pretty nice. We had bought it from a material company selling it on "close out" and can not get it any more, so what we have is all we will ever have. I think we have about 15 Meters left (enough for 4 to 6 kilts). Once it's gone, we won't have Cameron in our Casual and Semi Trad models any more (it's not a tartan woven in PV). Hope this helps to clarify!
