Nice camera! The 10MP images will give you plenty of resolution for cropping, effectively giving you a telephoto lens. Compressed too much, the regular tartan patterns frequently create a Moiré effect. The close-up can be reasonably reduced to 600 or 800 pixels on the longest edge with IrfanView's resize/resample option. There's even a batch mode capability under File/Batch Conversion/Advanced Options.
