With respect to Jock's honest and insightful views might I just pay respects to those that fought and died on the battlefield fighting for their beliefs and freedoms.

Whatever the personal vendettas of their leaders may have been, many brave men on both sides fought and died that day for causes right and just. That alone should be reason enough to honour their memory, whatever our opinions of the results of their sacrifice are.

Appalingly in the 70s someone to turn the battlefield into a housing estate, the visitors centre is great, the huge round monument frames the battle field nicely
