This thread is over two years old at the time I am writing this so it is understandable that some changes have occured since it first started.

Scottishkilts.net and tartanweb are indeed basically the same company with nearly identical websites and offerings.

I ordered a 16oz 8yd Isle of Skye machine sewn kilt from scottishkilts a couple months ago when they had their kilt day special going (still going on as a matter of fact)---a special discounted group of about twelve tartans made up into a good quality 8yd 16oz kilt. Ordering was easy, my kilt arrived in about 7-8 weeks as expected, and was of good quality material (Marton Mills I believe) considering the price (about $240 US), and good quality build, as best as my minimally trained eye can discern. It fits well and looks great. I will admit that their communication is extremely limited and they are not at all good about responding to emails (totally ignored several of mine) so I would not expect great customer service unless you can get them on the phone directly, which I never tried.

Overall I am very satisfied with my product, but would have some concerns about the customer service end of things if you had any questions before ordering or problems during the process or with your item after recieving it. Just not sure their are any humans there on the other end, although there must be if they can take a website order and turn it into such a nice kilt.
