    ...Solid color kilt for knockaround?

If there was EVER a kilt that you could make yourself, this is it.

The £19 kilts are made of acrylic, the fell is not sewn down, and some of them use velcro fasteners instead of straps and buckles. On these forums, Stillwater Kilts seems to be the most well regarded of such vendors. Vendors of such kilts exist in Scotland as well—particularly on Edinburgh's Royal Mile. Of course, tourists are their main target. Lidl stores in Scotland also sell cheap acrylic kilts around Burns Night. The cost I've seen quoted is £24.99.

    Opinion on such kilts varies.

definitely go with something that has straps and buckles, not Velcro. it wears out and could pull threads on the polly material.

Between the two choices you listed, go with SWK. Do a search on the search function on xmarks for kiltmart and check their reviews.

I've seen both and would prefer SWK in the economy class. The look good and can take a beating. My kilt is a solid green shadow Tartan but I have the 100 percent wool style which isn't very heavy and stays cool as the fabric is natural and breathes. I get alot of compliments on the "shadow".
