    Just a little Photoshop tip when doing these re-creations...film of the period didn't respond very well to the red end of the spectrum so if you can separate your image into the three channels, red, green and blue, try dropping out the red channel completely and then convert to a black and white or sepia.

    I'm really enjoying seeing these conversions...my suggestion to Arlen is to get a pair of false muttonchop sideburns and go for that hirsute look...I think that that would put it over the top.

    I'll have to have a go at that.
    It's paint shop pro I use since I can't work photoshop at all, but I'm pretty sure there's a similar option of RGB.

    I don't have photoshop but looks fun ageing pictures and will have to have a go with another program!

    I know it's not necessarily a kilted vintage photo, but here is one for the thread:



    The fellow in the photo with me is a fellow member of the local St. Andrew's Society and member of the Clan Kerr. We do a program of traditional Ozarks legends and superstitions (with a few Scottish stories thrown in for good measure) for local groups, state/national parks, etc.
