Sorry I'm a bit late on this one . Welcome to the madness that is Xmarks. It's nice to read that we have another Norwegian member.I've seen many kilt wearers here in Norway so you are far from being alone.
If you want a tartan kilt there are plenty to chose from. Cajunscot has given you several good links. Let me know if I can help in anyway.

Welcome from Fort Worth, Texas!
Actually, some parts of Norway have a history of using tartan that dates back to 1612, when Scottish Highlanders were used as mercenaries by Gustavus Adolphus of Sweden during fighting in Norway. Some of the mercenaries apparently settled down in Norway after the battle (which they lost). Look here for tartans named "Romsdal" and "Gudbrandsdalen", if you're interested.

Thanks for the massive welcome everyone..
cajunscot : I had no idea there was a norwegian tartan!!, not a whole lot of info I can find on it tho apart from those links you gave, we shall see.. maybe by May 17th, 2014 or something I'll have gotten around to it Gotta say tho, my fathers side of the family is from Sogn & Fjordane / Stryn so maybe all is not completely lost...
McClef: Her name is Zoe (my dog that is!)
TheKiltedWonder: Japp, man har ju vuxit upp med svensk tv
SteveB: I know I dont _have_ to be of Scot decent to wear a tartan its just that to me at least, the tartan represents heiritage and family so to just pick one would to me at least feel like a bit of an insult to whoever is related to it.. unless ofcourse I marry into a family or get absorbed as some official honorary member of one or something other that sorta ties the knot properly .. Also, wearing a kilt in Norway is enough of a mental challenge without that tartan bit, for now at least.
JakobT: Jeg bor i vestfold men er fra vestlandet.. =)
Freelander Sporrano : Loads of people wear kilts in norway eh? heh.. I think ive seen one.. once.. and he was scottish (well apart from my mirror image now that is.. if that counts)..
.. hope I didnt forget anyone now
