Greetings from Norway!
Hello there!
I've finally, after thinking about it on and off for a few years, decided to go kilt, and after lurking on these boards for a while, I am really looking forward to doing so. (Even more than I did. )
PS: Does anyone know anywhere I can buy the kilt in Norway (or Sweden)? I think that Old Nick himself is standing at the borders putting taxes on anything I buy elsewhere, so it would really be appreciated with some hints. (Import taxes in Norway are awful. )

Welcome from Heidelberg, Germany! You could always take a cheap flight to scotland and pick one off the rack and wear it home.

fra Sud Vallisk UK!
Perhaps a good way of avoiding import taxes would be to order one from Scotland, fly over on holiday when it's ready and wear it on the way back.
Ikke Sant?

Heisann og velkommen!
Welcome from Nesna, Nordland!
Glad to see another Norwegian member here. I worked in Elverum for a couple of years in the late '90s.
Freelander's alternatives to trying to find a kilt in Norway are certainly well worth looking into. The import duty you save picking up the kilt yourself in Scotland pays for the ticket AND a few drams too...
Feel free to ask for practical advice.
Where does your interest in kilts stem from??
cheers,
patrick

No advice on buying a kilt, but welcome to the forum!
"A veteran, whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America", for an amount of "up to and including my life." That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it." anon
