Bummer,
Some good suggestions though, especially "parachute."
Know you know Jay's right about job hunting being a full time job.
You'll do well. Something good is happening.
There used to be a great book called "Fired Again." Don't think its in print anymore though...just keep on trudgin'
And don't forget you can take a job to get the money coming in but keep on looking for the "right" or "best" job.

Modelling idea sounds cool; I can see it now, reclining on an Isle of Sky Fly Plaid wearing nothing but a strategically draped rubber chicken, and a flashing smile.
Just keep smiling and be patient, you never know what might be around the next bend...

I almost forgot. Can you skate and shoot a puck? The Canucks are looking for a new captain. Just show up to the front office and ask for Mike.

Let's see; Kilted assassin; With my killer looks? Hmmmm. Ballerina? I'm having a hard enough time wearing a kilt with my wife. Imagine me walking in one day in a frilly pink (maroon) tutu. "Honey I have some good news..."
Rubber chicken quality tester; Hmmmm, I've noticed an apalling lack of quality these days. I've also noticed an apalling lack of respect of Rubber chicken in the 'Frisco area...

Stan, I like your idea; a kilted underwear model. Unfortunatly the camera adds 10 lbs and it always to my nose.
Raph, the Canucks? We have our own losing team in the Maple Leafs in need of a Captain!

Damn, Grant - That's hard news!
For what it's worth, I heard an NPR article about how the trades (plumbers, electricians, carpenters, etc) are suffering from lack of new apprentices. If I lost my job, I suppose I'd look into one of those fields.
However, if I really had my druthers, I might try to apprentice myself to a Master Brewer.
