Good Scottish weather. We set up in the rain on Tuesday. It rained on Wed, and thurs. Friday and saturday were good. Sunday started raining at about 3, then poured from about 9 pm on. Monday was clear and cold.

Haley hanging with friends she met last year. Three generations of this family have camped on this campsite for 35 years. Grandpa's ashes are scattered on the site.

Piping the campsite. Someone is piping in the grounds from morning till curfew.

Some of the "Tarpology" practiced here is just amazing

Son James at Casa Turpin. I spread 5 bales of straw to keep the site clean.

I'd love to show pix of the drum circle saturday nite on the McRowdy side of the campgrounds - It went from just after the marshmallow war (a really neat thing itself - Family Side Pipes and Drums lead an invasion of McRowdy armed with marshmallows and are met by a hail of return fire) - until 1:30 a.m. REALLY tribal. And the belly dancers, while not, strictly speaking, a Scottish tradition, would have been accepted at any self-respecting Scot's fire. But I can't drum and shoot pix at the same time and anyway, you really have to be there. Just getting in the zone of the beat and following wherever it takes you. A couple of the drummers from Albannach joined in as well. Really cool.

The games were good too. But you get the idea what I enjoy most at Grandfather. Rain and all, I'll take it over a good day at the office.
