    Inexpensive shirt alternatives

Looking for an inexpensive alternative for a "casual shirt ??

    1. make your own - use an American Drop sleeve pattern.
    2. Purchace on from a GOOD Black Powder Muzzle Loading outfitter

Here are pictures of some of my shirts All cost under $35.00

These 2 are cotton & muslem

These 2 are linen & muslem

Buttons - All these have REAL antler buttons, but I have "converted several
of my shits to a "Celtic" look , by using buttons from the craft store

    Here are 3 of them

If you have ???? on findig shirts like these, contact me

Don't overlook the Western reenactor suppliers if you have any near you. Or online try www.wildwestmercantile.com

Many of their shirts have the olde tyme grandfather collar/Irish pub shirt look that goes well with kilts.

Sometimes you can find nice linen shirts at the old western stores.

Those Columbia type fishing shirts go well with kilts too and you can often find them on sale as the summer season winds down. Wide range of colors to work with the tartan colors.

This one's a tad disheveled after a long day of dirt road driving and back trail hiking. Some of them have enough pockets to forgo the sporran.

And, a plain old inexpensive chambray shirt can go well with kilts.

Look around, pay attention. I found a great grandfather collared 100% linen machine washable white shirt on sale at J.C. Penny. Even had long tails. Was a steal.

    Improvise, adapt, kilt up.

Or, as suggested, dump the dang shirt and soak up some vitamin D.

"I'll have a kilt please, a nice hand sewn tartan, 16 ounce Strome. Oh, and a sporran on the side, with a strap please."

I'm a big fan of the safari style shirts (also the fishing ones like pictured above).
