Anyone else notice the rose being worn behind the cap badge of one of the 1st Battalion (Royal Scots Borderers) Jocks?
The rose is worn by members of certain regiments (the King's Own Scottish Borderers being one) that fought at the Battle of Minden on 1 August, 1759. The story goes that British soldiers picked roses from a garden as they advanced against the French.
