Boots for Casual Kilting

I have been a fan of wolverine brand boots ever since 7th grade (way before I discovered how badass kilts are). I wear them almost constantly and each pair lasts me a little over four years.

I have worn steel toed boots in the past and found that can get really cold in the winter. Personally, I can't see any reason to have steel toed footwear unless you need protection, but they seem to be trendy among some circles as a fashion accessory.
