I haven't noticed the pockets tight on my mockers, but maybe they just are, OR someone stitched part of the pocket closed for some reason.
Also when you wash the kilt, you don't need to press it, and don't use the dryer. Just hang it up and "press out" or flatten the pleats with your hands. Do that a few times while it is drying and also pull the pleats at the bottom to prevent curl, but hold the top of the kilt with the other hand or you pull it off what ever is holding it up to dry.
