    Brown sporran hangers

I'm in desperate need of a pair of brown leather sporran hangers (the ones that loop over the kilt belt either side of the buckle). Can anyone point me in the right direction ? Thanks.

    Do what I did.

Go to your local Goodwill, DAV, Consignment shop and find either a belt, purse, or strap of some kind that you would like and is at least an inch wide and about 15" long.
Then go to your local hardware store/ national chain and find two trigger snaps that will fit the strap. You'll also need a pair of snaps (I used YKK #24), a kilt usually comes with the tools you'll need (minus a hammer).
Cut the strap into two 7" to 7-1/2" long pieces, add the trigger snaps* and the corresponding snap component at each end (color or finish of the snap doesn't matter because they will be hidden behind the belt.) and your done!

For a chain I bought a decorative piece at the same hardware store and cut it to about 7" and looped it through the sporran and clipped each end into the trigger snaps.

    Total cost-----------$8.25
    Purse at Goodwill ----$3
    trigger snaps-----2@$3 ($1.50 each)
    snaps set-----------$1.50
    Chain----------------$.75

*Go ahead and get one set of chrome finish and one of brass so you can swap them out to match your accessories.

Thanks for the advice guys. I've just placed my order with Oconee Leatherworks and they're just what I wanted. I have a pair of the fancy black ones, which being two individual chains was a great improvement on my original Craigie sporran sling, but I needed a pair in brown, which seemed to be harder to get. Anyway, thanks once again, and I'll post a picture of me in my 'Day Dress' when it's all together.
