The Motorcycle clubs also show up and make a barrier between them and the funeral. I am afraid I would be less charitable :buttkick:, but then that would be illegal! Welcome to Xmarks! Great story and I agree you handled the 3 kings in the right manner. There is no point in trying to argue a point or persuade someone like you describe.

And Carolina Kiltman the Patriot Guard are a great thing in my opinion, allowing the families of our fallen troops to honor them without having to worry about that nut from Kansas and his family.
Those goofballs actually came here to protest at the funerals for some school children who died in a bus crash. The city handled it well. They gave them a permit to protest, marked off a spot on the sidewalk far away from the families and then parked two city buses right in front of them and left them running the whole time. And the local media ignored them completely as well.

So this weekend I went to see a show that was in Times Square in New York City.


However, a few minutes later as I was entering the theater I was stopped (as everyone else was) at the security check point. The guard with the hand held metal detector just stopped to look me up and down and he smiled.

To digress a moment. Metal detectors and security at shows? Is this the norm in NY City?

Would you laugh even more if I told you the hand held metal detectors were protecting the entrance to the theater I was entering to see Terry Fator. He is the ventriloquist who won America's Got Talent last year.

The answer however is no. There really are no metal detectors at the entrances of theaters in New York City. However, they do search bags and some theaters make you check backpacks and/or bags of any kind. Many theaters also do not allow any 'doggie bags' (restaurant left overs) in too. Both make sense because the seats usually have limited leg room and different foods can smell.

Like the comment "so the man in the dress tells the man in the..." HA

Going to NYC this coming weekend to a cabaret show (not to be confused with the musical Cabaret) and I plan to wear a kilt again!
