    Shoe Tip for Military Members

Hello all, just thought I would pass along my fortune and bounty. I have been looking at a nice pair of what we call wing tips in the states; are they brogues if they don't lace up the leg? Anyway, since I couldn't stand the idea of ghillie brogues, I still wanted a sharp pair of shoes for my kilting.I was looking at the Nunn Bush Morgans at Kohls, pricy at $75 for me. But I went to the exchange yesterday, and found them for $39! So, if anyone with exchange priveleges is looking for a nice pair of shoes at a good price, there you go!

Brogues are a style of shoe where the leather is pierced with holes in a pattern rather than a smooth leather. They don't lace up the leg but are a version of the "wing-tip" shoe.

Rights to shop in the PX are very precious, and it's good to hear that there are sometimes good deals. However, I think that sale may be just local to your area, as I recently checked at our PX here at Pendleton, and didn't see anything like that. I will check again today.

    Thanks for the heads up.

Jay, I can tell you that the amount of shoes that they had on hand was small, and they didn't have a display model. I was just diligent in my hunting...the nose to the ground so to speak, keeping with my dogs! You might check with the online catalogue.

Phil, if your really interested in them, pm me. I have so much family in the panhandle of Idaho, you might just be kin! Buying them for kin is okay, I think...

Currently on sale, at least online, at Kohl's for $60 including wide sizes FYI

Yes, I did see that they just put them on sale, again. I have been looking at them for a while now. They are constantly on and off sale, so for those who can't use the base priveleges, patience would pay off. I think I saw them as low as $39 once. Just darned nice when you don't have to pay tax or shipping!

Kinda makes me wish I still had PX privileges. I used to find some pretty good deals in there.
I have always tempered my killing with respect for the game pursued. I see the animal not only as a target but as a living creature with more freedom than I will ever have. I take that life if I can, with regret as well as joy, and with the sure knowledge that nature's ways of fang and claw or exposure and starvation are a far crueler fate than I bestow. - Fred Bear
