This is why I live in California. Yes, we do have an occasional earth tremor, but not an annual "Earthquake Season", nor a 'Tornado Season' or a 'Hurricane Season'......

How about going into the export business? They transport oil and gas long distances through pipes - why not run the floods through a few filter beds and start laying pipes.
Or even just spread out some plastic sheets and funnel it straight into the pipes - unless you get fish frogs and other stuff along with the water.
You could even make it portable - start chasing storms and selling the rain to the highest bidder, it could be the start of a whole new industry.

Rain, rain everywhere!!....we have had sooooo much rain here this past month or so (even more than usual) a months' rain fell here on Saturday last,....it was quite strange to see the brand new multi-million pound motorway underpass in Belfast under 25 feet of water!!!
We are well used to lots of rain here (that's why it's so green), but that was frightening folks!!
