Hello from SW Florida
Hi Everyone,
I am new member to the forum, but have been reading the forum for a few months now. And am happy to say that I am associated with a great group of people. Two trips to Scotland and RAGBRAI (registers annual great bicycle ride across Iowa) in 2006 convinced me that I should wear a kilt and stand tall and proud. The first trip had me wanting a kilt, but I figured I would never wear it. Then it was a group of guys riding RAGBRAI showed me I had to have one. Imagine seeing a group of guys in Sergeant Bluff Iowa having a good time and garnering quite a bit of attention I might add to push you over the top. A second trip to Scotland allowed me to buy 2 kilts. Going out the first time in a kilt was un-nerving, but the response was overwhelming. When bifurcated, people say to me "Where's the Kilt?" So 6 months and I will have my fifth kilt arrive tuesday. A made to measure 5yd Irish American and a P C coatee for an upcoming formal I will be attending. I guess I am addicted. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Thanks for being a valuable resource.
Tim

Ragbrai
Ah, RAGBRAI -- several of my cousins have ridden in RAGBRAI over the years, and my boss religiously follows it (even though he's from Nebraska!)
My avatar is the Iowa tartan, btw.
Welcome!
Cheers, ![Cheers!](http://www.xmarksthescot.com/forum/images/smilies/icon_beer.gif)

My wife and I were in the Iowa City area last year during RAGBRI. We sat at the bottom of the hill leading into Cosgrove and watch soooooo many people make that left turn and start up the hill just to turn around and go back down. Then there were those that just walked up the hill. Just before you got to the church at Cosgrove, you pass the farms of my father-in-law and brother-in-law.
