Norwegian Centenary Tartan?
So, I had some down time today and I've taken a keen interest in compiling a list of "Lifetime Wanted Tartans" and I was looking for something pertaining to Norway (since I'm mostly Norwegian and Welsh) and I stumbled across the "Norwegian Centenary" tartan, (ITI #6689). This really caught my eye, and seems well designed to be reminiscent of the Norwegian flag and its associated colors.
I was wondering if any of you know a few things regarding this tartan, such as what it looks like in person, if it's available from any mills or has to be requested for weaving, and things of this matter.
So far I know very little regarding more rare and specialty type tartans as well as tanks, but I hope I can learn some more to (hopefully) get one sometime soon...ish.
Any opinions or insight are much appreciated.

ScotsWeb offers a nice 16oz version from "glena". I'm not sure what the actual mill's name is.
I can't imagine it's available from too many places, or?
Good luck with your search. I've no personal experience with the tartan.
p.s. snakker du norsk?

Thanks for the link; that I did see right after posting this, but I still have a lot of looking around to do I think (no matter, plenty of time 'til I can afford it).
And, nej, I cannot speak Norwegian... yet. Learning Swedish though, not a huge jump to teach myself Norsk from Svenska.

haha that's funny because I don't really speak Norwegian. I almost typed "Talar du norsk?" before remembering they use "snakker". If you ever have any questions on Swedish, I'm not fluent, but I'm pretty decent.
Good luck finding more info and saving up for it!

The Norwegian Centennial (its proper name) tartan was designed by David McGill of International Tartans to celebrate Norway's centenary as an independent nation. The colours in the tartan are taken from the Norwegian and Saltire flags. See www.internationaltartans.com.
Being Norwegian myself, I considered this tartan, but I generally prefer something a little quieter. You might also want to consider the Pride of Norway tartan, and there are also several district tartans, like Hallingdalen, Romsdal and Valdres.

I looked at some of the other National Norwegian tartans, Pride doesn't fully appeal to me, I (for some reason) really like the colors on the Centennial.
Thanks for that link, those are some nice designs.
I suppose I'll browse and see if I can find any districts that have significance to me.
